As a part of my weekend getaways, I was coming back from a Broadway show when I decided to drop in at 57th and 5th , the place where Nokia houses its one of the only two flagships in the US. Opposite the Nike Store there stood a small blue tiny place with N97 banner. Contrasting that to the Apple store it looked less expansive but once you step in, it was equally spacious. With 2 floor plus the ground, it sure was amazing.

My experience inside was superb. The staff was very attentive and helping. They showed me around and had good knowledge about various devices. Although I couldn’t get the word when N86 would become available but all I got was pretty soon. Yes, they offered me a N86 to play with which I must say caught me totally by surprise. There were two surprises, one they showed me 2 devices which were not on display, and two the N86 itself was a beautiful piece of work, better than I had in mind.

I will let lose my love for the device in another post but below you can catch the N86 @ NYC.

This feature is finally back and is in the N86. I will update you more on it in the later part of this week as I will have a hands on with the device itself. Following is the feature as mentioned in the User Guide of N86. Now you can Merge, Cut, Add text and music to your videos all while on your device itself. In this evolving world of moiles, it was a must to have such a feature. Kudos Nokia for listening to us!

Thus, this helps in geo-tagging your pictures accurately. Its a small indicator at the bottom right part.

Nokia’s best mobile imaging device, the Nokia N86 8MP, which earlier this year won the prestigious TIPA Award for the Best Mobile Imaging Device in 2009, is now shipping globally.

The device features variable aperture, which results in vibrant photos even in challenging bright and low-light conditions. The fast mechanical shutter and Automatic Motion Blur Reduction ensure shorter latencies and less motion blur. Processing times between pictures have been more than halved in comparison with many other camera phones.

Uploading pictures and videos on social networking sites like Ovi Share and Flickr is fast and simple with high-speed connectivity of the Nokia N86 8MP. 8GB of internal memory provides enough space for up to 4000 photos and the memory can be increased even further with an exchangeable 16GB microSD card. To check out the technical specifications, please click here.

I had time today to take the RDA tour of the 8MP Nokia N86. It was great and the best part was the ScreenSaver is simply amazing. Earlier Ricky told us about the Kickstand having some function to it. More or less like a sensor to open a particular application but I guess at times it can be buggy. Notification light comes in with a breathing light and lights that alert you of missed calls, new message, new emails etc. The screensaver is amazing and reminds me of the faceplate time display on the Nokia 7205. Catch a glimpse below.

Also below are the options you can set up on the N86 Kickstand.

“well that’s your pick” as for me my money is on the n86 “WHY”? because it’s better for MY needs, this i why i don’t need a N97, first off i don’t do a lot of typing on my phone so no need for a full QWERTY keyboard , I’m not a big fan of touch screen phones, and last but not last but not least i don’t need to be on the net 24/7, but what i need is a good looking smart phone that has a good camera, that can connect to my email and brows the web with a music player, gps, maps and N-Gage games. here are one of the things that the N86 have over the N97 is

The Camera

A 8 MP, 3264×2448 pixels, wide 28mm Carl Zeiss lens, autofocus, dual LED flash camera vs. a 5 MP, 2584×1938 pixels, Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, LED flash camera, the N86 has a bigger, better camera in size and in features in a much smaller package. here are the specification for the N86 and the N97
