Yes this time the new E75 which appeared in the very glorified leaked video this week, is the side QWERTY slider for the first time in the Nokia Line up of Smartphones (If I’m wrong then please correct me). Well we have seen the likes of uni-Sliders, Dual-Sliders and now its time for the Side QWERTY uni-Slider from the Finnish Giant. (This is not anything new as we already had side QWERTY Sliders in the market already viz. O2) Although it was not clear from the video what the message it wanted to point for the corporate world (May be the New Point and Shoot Feature) but we here at S60Blog compared it with the likes of the robust Nokia E90.

Nokia E75 (The Physical)

1. The Screen Size does appear to be bigger than E72 but compared to the amazing brilliant screen of E90 it stands no match. Don’t know what People at Nokia were thinking but if this helps to reduce the thickness of the device then its a thumbs up. In simple words the compromise of the screen size is justified only if the device is sleek, which i feel will be the case.

2. The outer keypad looks pretty solid and the device too looks quite satisfactorily spectacular when compared to the outer face of E90 as it looks more filled and space utilization has been done well and thus empty spaces don’t appear as they are in E90. It reminds you more or less of the E51.

3. The Side QWERTY slider is also a thing with a twist. the QWERTY is a discontinuous flow with a hint of design separating T from Y, G from H and B from N, which is visualized by the bright white line in the center. Thus with this difference the QWERTY is more or less the same.

4. Improvement in the field of Camera Optics is also anticipated with the likes of the 5 Mega Pixel and Carl Ziess, but its too early to say but none the less if we are looking towards the future then I’m pretty sure on this.

5. The E75 too will feature in Red and Black Colors.

6. On a final note the E75 will rather be a compact version of E90 with better Camera optics and probably Feature Pack 2 trasitions as well. The side QWERTY will sure trake a little while to get a hang at first. On my personal take I still like the E90 which has a bigger screen and the elaborate QWERTY which i feel are missing in the new E75. (If in case E75 too has the same appx. dimensions).

I regularly get mails from a whole lot of amazing Symbian fans like you and this one got me right up. It’s a video showing the Nokia E72 and E75 phones. (Don’t know who leaked the video, but its here. Sorry Charlie these things just keep on happening!) Sources say that these models will be released in Europe first. Take a peek and lemme know what you feel. I thank Frank for send me the email . So do you feel iPhone legacy will still live or these new models will take over?

E72 is the QWERTY Version and E75 the candybar. The QWERTY is a slide more or less on the likes of the O2, HTC etc. windows based mobiles we have seen.

Update: Video has been removed due to infringement of terms and services.

Rolled up elsewhere in the blogsphere we have the featuring of yet another leakey story from the like of touchscreen cell phone none other than the First VGA Screenshot of the Nokia Touch UI. What seems to be a very clean interface the screenshot looks pretty big with 7 rows as compared to the present 5 rows thus approximating a diagonal width of 9 cm. The scoop has been brought out by guys at the Mobile Phone blog who have expressed their views on the story.

Considering that the Screenshot has been taken proves the point that the device is based upon S60 v3 platform.

It’s kind of hard to say something cleaver about upcoming touch UI that hasn’t been said before and make an interesting story based on the single screenshot which is by the way obviously taken out of the S60 5th edition SDK emulator not from the real device!

The UI core basically remains the same and it looks like the classic S60 FP2 UI with slightly redesigned interface to make it optimized for both finger or stylus optimized input. In a matter of fact, judging by the leaked screenshot the main change looks to be The 3 Tabs for easy functionality.

Still the cloud over seems thick and we are all waiting for the sun to come out. Do check out the following video we got from youtube.

Not Uncommon now to find the big wave hitting every blog including ours about the much anticipated Samsung Mammoth i8510 or G850 (we don’t know which name would Samsung Pick out of the two but i personally like the former). The Symbian S60 device will change the way the world clicks pictures once and for all. The 8 MP Camera Sensor featuring device also boasts of a 2.8 in display and a 16 GB internal Memory. Following are a few shots that are circulating in the blogsphere. Samsung wants to make volumes and put a bestseller on the market with a high-end smartphone that doesn’t only have an eight megapixel camera but is also over complete when it comes to other functions of a device. Whether the Samsung i8510 will also come to Europe is still unknown but it wouldn’t surprise Mobile Phone Helpdesk.

Phone reminds me on Samsung G810 and definitely looks like its successor, it features the same form factor, similar design and metal cover but with incomparable better specifications.
The features list of Samsung i8510 is amazing, from the 8.0 MPX camera, VGA video (120fps) 16GB of the build in NAND memory, HSDPA, WiFi, GPS, 2.8″ screen (resolution is not known but I hope it is not just another VGA phone). There is an also DivX support, TV out, a dedicated 3D chip, the optical mouse featured in i780 & i900, DLNA, stero speakers, 1200mAh battery.
Last but not the least, this impressive hardware is powered with the latest version of the S60 platform (3rd edition Feature pack 2) and packed into relatively small and compact body, 106.5 x 53.9 x 16.9mm

Beware Nokia, the winds are changing.
From what we know, the phone comes with the following specifications:-

<!--[if gte mso 10]>

We dont know for real if the rumours are true or not about the release of Nokia’s Symbian Based N79, N85, 5800 (the all touch symbian) and 6260 mobile phones, but we sure have some pictorial evidence that these are in the Research and Development Phase. Please note that this is the word all over the other blogs like at the Symbian Blog, Vaibhav believes that the rumors are indeed true. Following are the Leaked Pictures of the devices. Im sure these devices boast of some amazing features but at present the conclusive list consists only a handful. Please be patient till we get more

The thing that we at The S60 Blog see is that the coming era is for the BIG WIDE-SCREEN.

N85
The Dual Slider with a Sleeker and More ‘i’ catching design. 5MP camera and 3G which are now a common rail in the new N-series these days. The only thing that is worrying me is that here we cant see any menu keys, and in such a case we generally have seen concealed touch feature, which I personally dont like as it to me doesnt help in making design more stylish or swanky. This phone is rumored to be the successor of the N96 it will probably be base on the S60 FP2 platform have GPS and geo-tagging which is now a must in the high end N-series devices. On Basis of being classy and stylish i’ll give it a 8.5/10 on STYLE and 8/10 on ANATOMY Structure.

N79

The N82 look-alike with 5 MP Camera. Ready to be shipped. Running on the S60 platform. If these leaks are true then I am quite disappointed with Nokia. To me it is a complete look-alike of the N82. Possibly it will be a little cheaper and have less features, but still wasnt the N-series all about innovative design and breathtaking features with this one Nokia is achieving none.

6260

The last leak we have is the Nokia 6260. We have nothing on what this phone on when will nokia bring it to the market. On the Scale of 10 for looks i would like to give it 7 + 1. 7 because it is a slide make just like the rest of the nokia phone sliders. +1 because of the Solid Metal Outline which Relects it Classy appeal. Overall 8/10 on looks. The Anatomy is well structured with the keypad adequately visible to touch and fingers.

Nokia is working overtime these days. Today we saw the spy pictures of Nokia Tube or the 1st S60 touch device which Nokia has been meaning to launch.

The pictures which we have our courtesy Symbian World. The pictures show a black device with cool looking stylus. The stylus reminds me of Nokia 7710 if you people remember it was a Symbian OS v7.0s, Series 90 UI device. The images also show that the device will have a 3.2 megapixel camera, with a LED flash.
I am not impressed we could have gotten a better camera on the device after all its the 1st touch device which will be powered by S60. The images show us that the device is going to belong to the express music group so the media part wont be an issue.

The device could also have been a little slimmer keeping in mind that for this device to capture the market it has to lock horns with the highly successful iphone. But with the keeping in mind the powerful devices Nokia generally comes up with I am not too worried as the market eventually for an s60 device and the iphone will be completely different.
