Try Nokia Maps And Voice-Guided Navigation For Free

Saturday, November 15th, 2008

Good News for all North American Nokia Fanatics. It’s a great chance to get your trial Package for Free Voice guided Navigation along with Nokia Maps. I recently go a mail form Nokia which contained information about the Free trial they were offering to their North American consumers. This is something superbly awesome. I had a great experience with the Nokia Maps when I was in the US earlier this year and really like them for they really helped me move around. Only if this offer came then, it would have made my day, but nevertheless I feel its a great opportunity to try them out and see how they fare. The most important part I would love you guys to try is the Pedestrian Mode. Do give me feedback how it goes. At the moment only a few handsets are supported for the trial but I feel more will join in. Happy Navigating ya’ll :P . But I am still waiting to see Public Transit Facility. Hope Nokia puts that in asap.

I am still waiting for Nokia to expand their coverage in India. But things don’t seem to be working. Recently Google Maps added a whole lot of new Indian towns to its coverage and at the moment it’s the only one that has proved to be of some help for me :P .

How to get My Free Trial*?

To activate your free navigation trial (E71, N78, and N82):

Voice Guided GPS Navigation Comes To India

Monday, October 27th, 2008

I had somehow not been able to keep up with the events going around but a couple of my reader had asked me about Maps, GPS and Navigation in India. With Google Maps performing well on S60 v3, I was more than happy. Nokia Maps are a big thumbs down in India. Although they have been working great in the western countries but when it comes to India they have been no good. But lately Motorola launched its touchscreen GPS-enabled phone offering navigation maps and landmarks of 30 Indian cities this festive season. That’s Right finally some Real Navigation. The fun not only ends here. Its the first Non-Symbian flip device to offer this service ;)

The phone has satellite based GPS which offers consumers lifetime free GPS navigation maps and landmarks of 30 cities and allows voice-guided navigation across major national and state highways. Well I’m not sure on the free part but the service looks promising. And it is said to work straight out of the box without even inserting a SIM card. ;)

Nokia GPS & Maps : A Complete Review

Monday, August 18th, 2008

click to go back

I know a lot of us do have the high end Nokia phones that come with an inbuilt GPS and the Nokia Maps Software but we have hardly explored it. The same was with me until lately when I accidently opened the application and gave it a shot. So after using it for about a month today I finally sat down to write about it in detail. Now it was an intentional accident and I’m glad it happened as I was on vacation being unfamiliar with the neighbourhood made me feel a little insecure. Simply, you feel more in place when you know your way around and professionally it saves you a lot of time. So here is a Real Time Experience of Nokia Maps & GPS bundled together to see if the Navigation is worth or just another money minting technique by Nokia.
