The iPad family has finally hit the market but the one’s available right now are Wi-Fi only models with the price ranging from $499 to $699. Sounds like a good deal but what if you need access to the internet on the go? Well, the solution is simple for us S60 and N900 users.

I own a Nokia N95 and simply love it. It was a couple of years ago when I came across an app that could convert my 3G into a Wi-Fi connection (with WEP security). Sounds cool, but when I actually tried it, it was simply amazing. The App is called JoikuSpot Premium and can be downloaded here for a special price of 9.00 Euros, which is about $12.50 You can also try the Lite version first before you buy the full version. Following is a screenshot of the app.

So, now with my N95 + Joikuspot in my pocket, I can have internet access on my $499 iPad whenever i want Thus, with as little as $499 + $12.50 + Taxes you can get the power of a $629 iPad. Have you tried this trick? Were you satisfied? Share your experiences in the comments section below.

Q: How Does Nokia Come Up With A Design?

A: People at Nokia believe that mobile is a very personal object. “One you keep close to you at all times be that in your bag or tucked into your pocket. A phone is more than just a piece of technology; you take it everywhere, tell it intimate things, and it can even reflect your mood and personality.”
Its your reflection.

People & their behavior along with their lifestyle is what Nokia aims at. Varied user choices from using a mobile as video camera to a fashion accessory to a tool at work is what the designers look for. They also keep a track of different needs and lifestyles by conducting detailed research and street anthropology all around the world.

Following Guidelines are followed by Nokia Designers:

Beautifully fits your lifestyle how you work, play and where you live

Its something special attention to detail makes it a joy to use and look at

t is not one product or design for everyone people can choose the one that best suits their lifestyle

The global team of designers is made up of 34 different nationalities. This unique group includes designers, psychologists, researchers, anthropologists, engineers and technology specialists, based in ten different locations around the world. Nokia has 4 main design studios: in Espoo (Finland), London, Beijing, and Calabasas in the US. In addition they have design teams working in Copenhagen and three sites in Finland Salo, Oulu and Tampere plus two satellite studios creative spaces located in design schools in hot new design capitals. The first was opened in Bangalore, India in August 2007 and the second in Rio, Brazil in February 2008. The Key is to look for a design that would stay in the future. The customer feedback is also a key issue. Following are a few sketches of designs made.

This all may sound good but what makes the iPhone a design revolution. Hmm…. Apple a company who has not been in the phone world just launched their firs phone with a ground breaking design. The Answer is simple. People at Apple bring in the Designers first and then the engineers which i think is the opposite in case of Nokia. There is lot to learn for every one. In the End all i can say is that Nokia has brought up Landmark Technology which The iPhone is Lacking.

The first thing you notice about this phone is its huge memory of 8 GB. A solid dual way slider that is packed with features ranging from the very simple to the very complex. Yes, this phone can be a bit complex at times but once you have the hang of it, it’s fairly easy to find your way through. Not the best of the designs from Nokia as it lacks the classy appeal and tends to be thicker when it’s in your pocket. A great Carl Ziess Optics of 5 MP Auto focus, the best at present in any mobile device. S60 based OS, thus many third party software are compatible.

Best Touch Screen Interface on the planet. Huge Memory to store your data. iPod, Phone, Internet, Navigation all in one. This device was spotted far more number of times than expected. The camera tends to drop the device rating by a substantial amount. Huge Screen is a big plus point with accelerometer technology enabled games are pretty awesome.

Xenon flash with 5 MP Af Carl Ziess is the best camera ever integrated in a phone so far. The image processing is super. nGage is also a cool feature with needs a mention here, why cause you can play games with the TV out and the graphics are brilliant. TV out is the best part along with the Auto Rotate function. Criticism was bestowed upon the crowdedly placed numeric pad & the absence of the pencil key.

This one came out of the blue and is a big time stunner. Amazing picture quality with its 5 MP Af camera. Yes, it’s another Cybershot. With its inbuilt image stabilizer even the shaky times come still. Xenon flash is also a great feature. Good sound quality as well. Easy internet surfing and a cool sleek design. It hits your pocket far less than the others on the list.

A surprise for us as it was not on our prediction list to be amongst the top five phones that soccer fans would bring with them at the Uefa Euro 2008. Since we bumped into quite many of them, I would like as well to elaborate more on it. Solid built is what catches the Eye at first glance. Wireless Email is by far the only and the best reason why people carry this around. It sure is addictive if you are a regular mailer. Great finish in design with only 91g of weight. QWERTY keypad is great.
