Why Is Mobile Digital Design The Next Big Thing?
Hi guys a week back i was in delhi for the Nokia Digital Design Boot Camp. and this post has been pending for a few days but the truth is I wanted to give a detailed thought to the experience at the meet. So after a lot of pondering I decided to write this post ( I know Finally). This was the first Nokia meet i had the privilege to attend as I missed the earlier two because of some work or the other, well to say I am happy that this was my first one because the experience was awesome.

When i first got the email that the Nokia Digital Design Boot Camp is happening in Delhi I was a bit skeptical about the fact that Design Meet i hope its not boring I hope we dont have to sit through long boring lectures. Well was I in for a shock not only was it a fun event. The Design team comprising of Nikki Barton, Rob Williams, Juliana Ferreira and Younghee Jung where awesome. It was a fun interactive session. As a ardent Nokia user like a lot of people I wanted to know what path Nokia is taking with respect to gestures and new technologies and how the future devices are thought about and designed. In the interactive sessions we were told in detail about the future endeavors which are being though about by Nokia.
After the event was offically over we had dinner with the design team and that too was an eye opener as we got the opportunity to talk to the design team individually and quiz them about a lot of stuff ranging from their take on the gestures to how it feels when a design layout thought about by them doesn’t actually make it to the device stage. I distinctly remember asking Nikki Barton this question and her reply was that it is definitely disappointing because you tend to put a lot into a device but then it is also very important not to get too attached to a single project, what is more important is to look into what went wrong and treat the whole process as R&D and work on making the next device much better.
To know what goes into making the device you love it use was a big thing for me it actually brings you so much closer to the device as well as you start respecting the hard work put into the making of a device.
I am also posting a few pics and videos of the event (shown above) as well as the live feed twitter feed which i posted during the meet looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say.
