Ovi Files Goes Free

July 27th, 2009 | No Comments | by Mod | Share

Nokia has eliminated the monthly subscription for anytime files on their Ovi Files service! There was initially a free rail period and a monthly fee, with the option for either a 10GB or 30GB online storage. But now my account shows 10 GB space, a much awaited but positive move by Nokia.

It works by you installing a Windows-based Ovi Files Application that runs on your connected computers, constantly synchronizing files with the online server. Thus, the files you put under the ‘Anytime Files’ are the ones that are copied onto Nokia’s server in your Ovi Files account, so that you could access them, as it says, anytime.

To use Files, you’ll need a computer with an Internet connection. Most mobile phones built in the last few years should work fine. You’ll also need Internet access on your mobile phone. If your mobile service provider offers it, we recommend an ‘unlimited’ flat-rate data plan. Still have questions? Visit our support site
