Nokia 5800 Firmware Updates To v21.0.025 – Available In India
Jeetu over at our forums have reported that we now have a new firmware update for Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, taking it to v21.0.025 . It is available via NSU and is available in India and Uk. Following is the changelog we got from gerrymoth. If you have something to share about the new firmware then do leave a comment below.

1. Quicker booting up – It seems to let you ‘take control’ a lot quicker than before.
2. As mentioned before you can make the menu button ‘breathe’ when the phone is in standby (but I think I may have found a small bug in that it appears to switch back to ‘off’ by itself! Not a good start!)
3. Music Player is showing BIG cover art – something that annoyed me in V20 was the fact the cover art was shrunk.
4. No longer switches predictive text off after you’ve used the Full Screen QWERTY keyboard and gone back to the regular keypad.
5. ‘Applications’ has been renamed ‘Apps’ – ‘Music Player’ is now ‘Music plyr.’ (These could be due to it using HK firmware?!)
6. Still no Widgety goodness on the home screen – it’s as it was in V20.
7. Web Browser isn’t working!!! I will try doing a hard reset I think.
8. Camera wise, there doesn’t seem to be any image improvements IMO – but it seems to work a little bit quicker.
9. Not had chance to test sound through a headset yet – I have personally had issues in V20 with a Stereo Bluetooth Headset so will be interested to check this out.
10. I think the handwriting recognition is improved – I’ve not used this much, but it seems better.

I think it is already there in v11.

Horray for this “feature” I hate it when I integreate a 500×500 album art but it shows me a tiny bit.

I am using HK Firmware, not yet find anything of these abbr.

Seen n97 and every one want a 5800xm home screen widgitized.

I dont think the 5800xm's camera is good enough for any usage, the noise in the picture sucks, even after I do some post render to the picture the image still sucks.

Dear Dr. Ani & friends,
I just updated my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic with new firmware of v21.0.025 and everythings seem to be OK except my Phone Settings “Date and Time” is not working at all and if u touch the clock on the left corner of the screen it said “System error”.
1. Need to adjust my clock to local time.
2. Can I restore to the previous firmware of v11.
Pls advised me.
Thanks!

hard reset ur phone by the following method …99% it should work….
you can put *#7370* – hard reset
or you can restore using the following buttons * key, a number key 3, green/call key : hold all of them down at the same time and power on your device do not let go off the buttons until you see the nokia screen or handshake screen only then you can let go and the phone will restore the original state, you will lose all your data on the phone tho
do reply if it works ….
