Nokia Photo Browser – 3D Photo Browsing For 5800 XpressMusic

March 31st, 2009 | 5 Comments | by Ani | Share

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic owners can now browse their pictures in stunning 3D effects with the latest cool application from the beta house front called the Nokia Photo Browser. From the video below it still looks a bit slow but I would love to see it go on the N97. Following is what Mika had to say about this new application followed by a cool video guide by one of my favourite Nokia Blogger from the inside of the Nokia Industry Charlie Schick :) .

“The Nokia Photo Browser is photo browsing application as name suggest. It’s designed to be easy to use application, when ever you want quickly browse through your images. User interface is designed to give fast access to all you images. Photo browsing should be fun! That is why Photo Browser introduces new ways to do photo viewing like; “Face browsing” which uses face detection technology to find people faces from pictures and just by finger flick you can browse people faces in image. Other cool feature is “MagGlass” magnifier, which makes image zooming to feel and look more real and analog.”

How to use:

Touch UI

  • Strokes, drags, and taps should work as you’d expect
  • In the single image view:
    • Long press to start the magnifier
    • Double-tap will start the regular zoom
    • Double-tap on a face will start the face browsing
    • In the face browsing mode, a stroke will travel between faces

Keys

  • Press hang-up key to exit the Photo Browser

Images are loaded from memory card(E:\Images), F-drive(F:\Images\) and C-drive(C:\Data\Images\).

works, the start is slow with my 100 jpg+, and worse, no UI close button, you will need to push the end call button to close the program. rest is cool.
