Nokia N82 Firmware Updated To v31.0.016
Steve over at AAS is our firmware man. He has reported yet another update, and this time its of Nokia N82 to v31.0.016 available from Nokia Software Update. The file size is 118 Mb. The N82 has UDP, but just make a backup, just in case. Steve did report a few hang ups but I can’t say, will update my device later today and tell you what the change is like.
We will add the changelog as we get our hands on it, so keep a check. If you can help add to one, please comment!

N82 to v31.0.016 just updated today on 31-Jan 2009 from v20. It works fine and
a lot faster in Menu Applications & the camera start-up too. Notice changes in Fonts to bold . Fantastic !.
I encountered last minute problem with updating that stop leaving me waiting for so long as the screen is saying 15 minutes more, then I remove its battery and cable and redo again. Everything went smooth after that … Bravo. It’s worth an upgrade. All my hacked programs still runnig as per normal.

Hi,
I am trying to update to the latest firmware but NSU says that no update is available for my phone. When I try to look up in the update site, it says that an update is available. Could someone help me out?

An update to the above; even when I connect my N82 to the PC Suite a bubble pops up in the sys tray saying that an update is available.

will i be able to use ma hacked apps after the upgrade…? and be able to use unsigned apps as in v20…??

use HelloOX, i just updated my n82 hacked v20 to firmware v31 , hacked phone back in 2 mins may be less
i want to know if the Ngage application is full or i have to install on phone memory the ngage v1345 which i had in v20 as i hard formatted my phone
Are the trial deletable or just i have to overwrite with binpda games

Hi,
I was able to update successfully after much tries, but now am unable to connect to internet using my Edge connection. Any help?
I’m able to connect my PC using my phone & Nokia PC Suite.
Also, when I get any settings SMS from my connection provider, my phone is unable to read it saying that Invalid Message Format.

I've been trying over and over again to update the firmware on my N82 to v31.0.016 and still get this same hang up waiting 1 sec. I have followed the instructions over and over (unplug USB, charger then battery) and replug.
Any help? How many times must I do this in order to successfully get this update?

hey king… can u pls tell me how u hacked the V31.. as i have been trying to do so without success… have tried Hello carbide and Xplore n all stuff but still cant install unsigned applications..

Hi,
You have to keep the charger connected while upgrading firmware,atleast at the last step.

Update went on smoothly without any hassle. When i updated my firmware last year to 20.0.016 i went smoothly till switch and never started again. So i was very restrained to update the firmware to 31.0.016 but now that i gave it a try, and i am very much satisfied with the update to 31.0.016.
Issues with this update was that first update failed due to usb optimization problem(no damage to phone). Then i reinstalled my nokia pc suite and software update and did the update again. This time it recognised the usb properly and went very smoothly without me realising that update was complete.
I downloaded the software and firmware( which for me took about 1hr due to limited bandwidth) but took only about 1 min after download to install the firmware and restart and all my previous data and applications (about 15) were safe and working fine without any need to use any backups. I dunno exactly which all features were tweaked but it feels good to update it to v31 (09-12-08 is version date)
I rate this update 5/5 : NSU v1.7.2 en-US, PC suite v7.1.26.0 en-US, bandwidth 256 kbps, previous version 20.0.016 (rm-313).
NSU is almost 100% safe if internet bandwidth is good.

I had update my N82 firmware to v31.0.016 but I realised after the installation my maps doesn’t work… Can s’body help me with this? Please…

hey guys!.. I update my firmware version, from v11 to v31 but im very disappointed! Bec my “themes effect” on my themes menu is gone!.. Now i cant activate the fp2 or themes effect on my n82 with this bullshit firmware v31… Can anybody know how to downgrade my firmware and back it to v11?? Im very much satisfide to my old firmware and very disappointed to this new update!.. Pls email me at redfield_99@y.c. Thanks a lot
