Nokia at CES had a pretty disappointing show. With all the limelight drawn at Palm Pre and the wireless charging unit, Nokia failed to make a mark. But the good thing is that Nokia had been propagating about environmental issues and some amazing NFC technology that we may see in the coming years which would help us. All in all a little cold show by the Finnish giant. I was expecting E75 to be announced but lets wait for the MWC and see if Nokia can surprise us. Following is a quick round up of Nokia’s show at the CES 2009.

1. Nokia Home Media Solution and Philips Streamium products are optimized to give consumers a simple, seamless, and interactive out-of-the-box experience. The Philips Streamium wireless audio products will let users stream music from their mobile devices or from another DLNA-enabled device like a PC in order to enjoy the music at home. With their Nokia mobile device, users can control the Philips wireless audio systems and interact with their music that’s stored on their phone, on their PC or on the audio device.
Nokia Home Media Solution:
The Nokia Connected Home is a set of Home Media applications and services allowing Nokia mobile users to enjoy their digital music, photos and videos through TV and stereos wirelessly at home. All you need is a compatible Nokia Nseries multimedia device, a wireless network solution and a compatible PC or a supported UPnP/DLNA media renderer or server, such as a television, home stereo system or a gaming console. The Nokia Home Media solution is now available on millions of Nseries devices, including the Nokia N96 and Nokia N95 8GB.
Philips Streamium
Philips innovative wireless music devices empower music lovers to free their digital music from the confines of a PC or a personal CD collection, and effortlessly stream the music throughout their entire home or work space. 3. Nokia E63 heads to USA: The Nokia E63 combines a QWERTY keypad, 3G network speeds and the mature open source operating system Symbian S60 3rd Edition, allowing consumers the ability to download third party applications, choosing from thousands, to customize their device however they’d like. With a variety of services and applications to choose from, the Nokia E63 is more than just a QWERTY smartphone – it’s a computer in the palm of the hand.
The Nokia E63 also comes with the ability to switch modes with the press of a button – allowing consumers to customize two separate home screens, one for work and one for play. A full HTML browser with Flash support rounds out the feature set of the Nokia E63, letting consumers check their favorite websites, blogs and social networks.
4. Nokia is also introducing the Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-904. The Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-904 is capable of separating a user’s voice from ambient noise, ensuring good speech quality in noisy environments such as in the car, on public transportation or in busy public places such as restaurants. It has the ability to maintain two active connections between the headset and another device at the same time. So a user can simultaneously connect for example to a PC (for VOIP) and to a compatible mobile device. The Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-904 also offers up to five hours of talk time after only 15 minutes of charging. Additional information about the new Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-904 can be found at www.nokia.com/bh-904.

5.
The Power of “We” Nokia has long been a recognized leader in driving responsible environmental practices, and at CES 2009, the company is announcing its role as worldwide sponsor of Giant Screen Films’ newest IMAX® production, Wild Ocean – a spectacular underwater adventure that showcases the power of people coming together to protect the environment that sustains them.
The film, directed and written by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas, the Academy Award-nominated creators of the stage sensation STOMP!, chronicles a massive annual migration, following billions of sardines up South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal shoreline. CES attendees are invited to stop by the Nokia booth for tickets to experience this magical underwater adventure for a viewing on Friday, January 9 at 7 p.m. PST and 8 p.m. PST.
