India Pre-book Your Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Today
Attention all Indian Nokia Fanatics. Here is your chance to officially Pre-book the New Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Device from official Nokia Website. We earlier reported the pre-booking in Spain, the first actually and rather Russia has already seen some tremendous sales of the device with ratioing 5:1 compared to iPhone. I tried it myself and am still waiting for a call from the Nokia Dealer but in any case it didn’t cost me a penny to do that 
, still waiting for a call though. Tip: Before you pre-book just make sure that your city is listed by selecting the state. As I am from Punjab, I only saw Amritsar, Ludhiana and Mohali listed for pre-booking. So make sure your city is there. For some reason the price is still not available. Just fill in the details and in the source field you can punch in our web address if you like and select your dealer and wait for that magical call . Do ask about availability and price and if any promo is there or not and give us your feedback.
I will update this post when I get a call from the dealer about the price but from my sources it should be around 21k. I am not sure about the headset people have been talking about but will furnish more info as and when I get with rights to be wrong

On a final note, its good to see Nokia India putting up an official word on pre-booking, but still with the device coming in late has made my initial Euphoria water down. hey, thanks for the update on the pre-booking. i did mine the moment i read ur post and got a call back within 5 minutes from the dealer. i booked it in chandigarh. also the dealer says the price would be 20k.

Pre-ordered the phone and got the call from Nokia dealer (within 10 mins after doing so). He said that the phone would be available during Jan 1st week. When asked about the price he said it’d be arnd 21800/- after tax. He asked me to pay 2k as advance and said that if we do pre-booking by paying the amount you would get earphones worth 2.7k (must be the Shure headsets that people were talking about)

hi. what i would like to know is, suppose we prebook it for x amount (i did already) and then we pay 2k advance. we get the headphones. and then the phone comes without the headphones for 2-3k less..then thats a disadvantage to us! i mean, if the phone is for the same price with headphones (prebooking) and without headphones (without booking) only then would prebooking make any sense…cos why would i want to pay 2-3k extra for headphones..id rather buy my own choice of headphones later..

I have ordered it from Bangalore. The dealer told me that earphones worth 2.7k is free if I pre-order(by paying 2k in advance). So I assume that the earphones must be the Shure one that people were talking about.
I also wonder if this ~22k cost is inclusive of the price of the earphone. Will the ‘earphone-less’ phone cost less when it is available without the pre-ordering? If that is the case then no use of getting the phone with earphone as I already have creative ep-630 which is pretty decent.

Hi Guys, yes it true we can preorder it by paying 2 grands, my priority dealer informed me i had gone today in morning to the place, also he has asked me to come in evening for a demo since he was gonna get the demo piece today. Price is the same Rs 21800/-
and confirmed delivery date is 2nd jan 09.

Guys today i went and saw the demo piece.. the phone looks good , built quality is very good, i loved the phone.. i saw red color.. he told me tat the software is nt the final version… tat will comes in phones tat cme is jan…speakers were good, only thing is typing on virtual keyboard takes time to adjust… its good tat we have option of diff keyboards.. even handwriting thing was very kool…headphones cmg with 5800 r nt shure but Sennheiser ones tat wat the nokia guy told me…so we will get the normal headphones tat normally cmes with the phone and the Sennheiser ones…so nt a bad deal at all…he said the phone will cme on 4 or 5 jan… now only waiting to get my new toy….

Just read over at tube 5800 that nokia was giving headset free during pre-booking in Philippines.

hi. just got a call from NPD in Jaipur. They said i should come over for a live demo and then i can book the phone for 2000rs. it will come in 2nd week of jan. she also said there is a guarantee of 48 hours in which phone will be replaced and warranty of one year. the price of the phone she told me is 19990. also, they have no information about the free headphones. there is no such scheme as per the information they have. i wonder if i should go and get the phone pre-booked. i asked her what if u increase the price afterwards, she said no this price is final and confirmed..im confused, ppl are saying 21880 but i just got the call..wht should i do

ani… i went to the dealer yesterday and lay my hands on the demo set. the built quality is pretty decent and so is the finger touch response. speakers dissapointed me a little but the guy there said the final versions for sale will have a better quality. also he said that this is not the final software. about the Sennheiser headfones, he said he might be able to adjust them in the total price and give me a best buy. so that way the phone should cost me 20 grands includin the Sennheiser headsets. i also used the wifi on the fone and the google maps too. the comfort level is very good, pretty handy, but will have to get use to the all touch screen, specially the kyeboards for faster typing, but that should not be an issue. also the camera gave great results with the flash as i clicked the guy at the counter only. the guy has confirmed the delivery on 3rd jan, 09.

I did pre-booking on the site mentioned. And I was amazed by the speed of response from Nokia dealer. Within 2 minutes I got a call. The lady over the counter asked me to come over to the showroom for live demo. Price 21850 INR date 4th Jan. location borivali mumbai. I will be going today to see the demo.

Booked my 5800 today for Rs. 2,000 from the Nokia Concept Store in South Extension, Delhi. The store said that the list price was Rs. 21,838, but for all those pre-ordering, the phone would be available for Rs. 19,990 (2k less, adjusting for the upfront payment).
No talk of headphones. Has someone got a better deal?

Prebooked the 5800 with an initial payment of Rs.2000 in Hyderabad. They said I will get the handset on 3rd Jan or max by 4th Jan 2009
. The price quoted to me was Rs.21850 and yes all the prebooked handsets will be getting a Sennheiser earphones free with it.
I did a bit of hands on with the handset and found it pretty interesting. Just waiting to grab my handset on 3rd

I just prebooked one for myself today here in guwahati..the NPD took 2k , and i was given a formal receipt , and also i recieved a formal email from nokia about confirmed prebooking..4th jan is the launch date..Cost is 21839,,and ofcourse the demo was great..It is an amazing phone..The phone that i was holding was not final, it is yet to be improved..Overall the accelerometer was good..Touch was responsive,set was handy and sexy..It was a good phone..Loved it .

Reconfirmed with another NPD – this time in Gurgaon (DT Mall) – it’s the same deal as the Concept Store in South Ex. The pre-booking offer is Rs. 19,990/-, delivery on 03 Jan. Pre-booking amount of Rs. 2,000 (adjustable against the price).
No talk of Sennheiser or any other headphones. Can anyone please give me the reference of any NCR dealer who’s promised a 20k price tag with headphones thrown in?

I’m counting the days and its so effing insane. its just a bloody phone and they’re making us wait like we’re getting elixir from the gods or something!! its getting on my nerves and getting past each day is getting frustrating! the dealer said it will be available after 7.30 pm on 3rd Jan. i doubt that very much, but lets hope i do get it on 4th. that shop is open on Sunday so there’s hope for me!!

Heyy guys yesterday i marked a mail to nokia regarding the issue of free headphones or speakers for those who have pre booked it.They did not told me anything related to that but i was shocked by the contents which they mentioned in the sales package for India.It contents -
User guide
1) Handset
2) Charger
3) Tv-out cable
4) Headphones
5) Connector of the headphone
6) Memory card
7) Dvd
That’s it,isn’t its shocking they did not mentioned about the stand or the plectrum or an extra stylus.
I am really worried guys,if anyone can try just call nokia customer care or mail them & please recheck the contents.Thanks everyone.

Hey guys.. well the Nokia 5800 is now officially available! I just got 1 of these babies an hour bk (da 1st customer to get 1 frm da NPD, Secunderabd)!
Had prebooked it.. total price was 21,839 INR. Came with Sennheiser LX90 earphones(MRP 4000) and a Priyanka Chopra calendar (for those who prebooked it).. The package contents include the Phone (duh!), battery, charger, headset, data cable, tv cable, carrying case, stand, 8 gb mem card, a plectrum chord, nd dvd/usermanual. It also comes preloaded with 283 tracks
1st impressions – Great looker.. bright blue hues running along the sides luks good. Touch ws moderately responsive (you need to apply a little bit of pressure cuz of the resistive screen), i guess it takes some getting used to.. the screen is large nd is brilliant, accelerometer isnt da most accurate nd takes a sec to change from portrait to landscape.. external sound outputs really loud from the stereo speakers (not as loud as sum chinese phones tho).. gps i havent tried out yet.. apparently it requires a data connection to activate it..

Dont worry about colour of 5800. After seeiing peoples different colour preference, I plan to have any colour available and get a spare colour as per preference. I am doing same with my existing Nokia 6670 and everytime I change the body, I feel like having a new phone in my hand. Thats fun with changable colours. So cheeeeeeeers..

Hi, i too had pre-booked 5800 with nokia priority dealer at sec-8, rohini, delhi. Though i was pretty annoyed with the absence of info on the delivery of the sets (I did’nt get any call from the dealer today, as they had promised). Later, i barged into the priority dealer shop at 8:30 pm, he said he is still awaiting order delivery from NOKIA !! We may get it tomorrow. I am pretty surprised that in a prime location like Delhi, they are so casual with the whole purchase experience of the customer…

got my phone 4rm npd in south mumbai!!.. fones awesome as ever..
though there is a lot of lag wen u try to open songs ..1nce u in gallery. next the accelerometer is fine but lags wen used while viewing photos..the games are laggy as hell too!!
touchscreen is very responsive and works awesome for a resistive one!
phones awesome in the hand n is a definite eye-candy and will attract eyeballs
browsing net is good but zooming isnt great its a pain infact
sound and speakers are the best in the business…damn friggen good!!
video playback is great too!
paid 21800 (2000+19800) accessories are magnificient
there is no guitar game preloaded tho
u get a stand and didnt get no priyanka chopra calender!
btw the lag shud be rectified with a firmware update!

I have got this beauty on 3rd…
1st impressions… looks very good, not at all looking cheap..
touch is very responsive..(ofcourse not as good as iphone), music player and video play is awesome best in nokia mobiles so far….
accelrometer takes time to repsond… abt a sec or so
gps not tested as of now,, and need to check the battery life too…
over all very much satisfied… and the sennheise head phones rocks…. toooooo gud in music clarity….

Hi i think nokia has cheated with us the pre-bookers we trusted nokia to buy the phone without much information about it i got mine on 4th for rs21800 here in lucknow & now on 9th it is available with a local store for rs19000 only this is not fare if they claim that they gave headphones free then who needed them i would offer to take it back & refund the amount because one was available inbox this is not fare.I also request all the readers to check that in local market & if i am correct we should file an official complaint about this unfair trade practice “DOES ANYONE STAND WITH ME ON THIS MATTER”

I guess by now evrybody knws that the fone which was being sold @ arnd 21K – 22K a week earlier is down to 18K – 19K.
I feel so cheated..We should have been given the option of not having the headset b4….

Hey… i got a reply!! it said my services wud be activated by 12th (2day dat is)… i’ve started browsin thru gprs/edge services b4 itself… so im still charged 30p per 50kb.. i mssg the offer details agn… it jus say GPRS service is already active on my phone… hav to go to the airtel office agn i guess….

hey guys i also prebooked the damn phone and now found that the price is Rs. 19999. Why the hell do pre-bookers get cheated…Calling out all thepre-bookers to maybe file a complaint against Nokia. Was told at the time of purchase that price would remain 21839. So giving the store a piece of my mind but I feel we need to gather critcal mass to get Nokia to stop this malpractice of cheating customers So anyone game kicking the shit out of Nokia India for cheating its best customers who prebook the phone, pay an advance amount for the phone before even we get it..and then get cheated out
Apple did the same thing and Americans gave Apple hell for the same.

I got my Nokia 5800 prebooking in Gurgaon at the price of 19999, delivered on 3rd Jan. I also bought LX90 earphones by paying Rs 600 extra. So far, I am satisified by it, though occasionally the OS hangs if I open many applications or do heavy web-browsing. Music quality is awesome with LX-90 earphones. Anyone knows about the option of upgrading the memory to 16GB from 8GB card and the price for that? I heard Nokia is giving the option now to new buyers.

Hi I Started this topic on cheating of nokia to the pre bookers i want to file a complaint & start this topic in new page but i dont know how to start it i am confused that how to start this protest please anyone give the suggestion i have mailed customer care but they just replied with regrets.I dont want all of us to keep quite & let nokia cheat others also please we need to file a complaint to nokia with signatures of as many pepole as possible who were cheated by nokia they cannot snatch our hard earned money like that i once again appeale for support & suggestions on this matter.

Guys u can dwnload new app in 5800…go to download section…and dwnload catalogs..there u will find free apps and games….my new fone (touch wood) working fine…thou the small opening is there on top..wat to do abt that plz help….has anyone solved that problem….

I just pre-booked one from my local dealer. But the dealer is saying that the black color is not available in India right now. Can you please tell me whether black color is available in India or Not?

No it is not available in india.Only the blue and red versions are available.

i bought my nokia 5800 XM yesterday for 19K with bill….from indore… and its available from all priority dealers of NOKIA since last 2 weeks.
the airtel offer is valid for all airtel postpaid mobile users. u just have to send a sms to 543210 with “5800″ as the content without the “” and u will get the sms that the service will start within 72 hrs and it will be informed to u by sms.]
i did it and by package is active.
the 121 does not know anything abt it i even talked to my local airtel office even they do not have any info abt it but the nokia dealers have got a “confidential copy” from NOKIA with all the instructions for getting the package.
lastly….
i have a red one and basically its dark copper with a red rim around and it looks definitely cool and its better than black also black is not available currently…from the company
