How To Get Started With NokiaviNe?
After having used NokiaviNe, the latest location based socializing application from Nokia, I am here detailing out on how to get started with it in the right way. I first had some serious issues with it but finally I managed to figure my way round them and have had used the application without any problems. And to top this post off I would like to mention that I have used the Application flawlessly with Nokia E66 courtesy Wom World / Nokia, a device which has not been listed in the supported list seem to work great without any bugs. In case you are wondering what NokiaviNe is then take a few minutes to check out the official site about the idea behind the application and that too in a cool video by clicking here or read my previous posts here and here. I have also included a few screenshots which will help you with the process of setting the client on your device.

CAUTION: All media you share on NokiaviNe is public and can be viewed by others online so be responsible while using the application. The application itself is free but you may be charged for data transfer by your Network Service provider.
1. First check if your device is supported or not. The official site lists N96, N85, N79, N95 8GB, N82, E71 & N78 devices as supported but I did try the application on E66 and it works great
2. Before we begin downloading the application we have to make sure of a few things first. For the application to work we need a Nokia Account. So if you don’t have one, first make one by clicking here. Nokia Account helps you keep a track of various Nokia services, like Nokia Chat, Ovi, NokiaviNe, Sportstracker etc. So this is a must before we go on building those vines.
3. After you are done with the Nokia Account, go to the Sportstracker Website and login using your Nokia Account ID. You will be prompted to choose a Nickname and fill a few fields which technically will pair your Sportstracker client with your Nokia Account. Why do we need a Sports tracker Account? Well, because this account helps up to keep a track of our vines and helps to manage them by editing information like deleting media, adding description etc.
4. Now after doing the above steps you are ready to download the NokiaviNe application on your device. Click here to download the application or go to the official site for the download link.
5. Transfer the file to your device and Install it. In case of E66 it gives a message that the device is not supported but you can install it anyway.
6. After successfully installing the client on our device run the application in the Installations folder or Applications Folder depending upon your device model.
7. Next you will be asked to enter the details of Access Point and also your Nokia Account which you made in Step 2. Fill the details and next choose your Avatar. You would then be prompted to enter the details of your Sportstracker account. Just skip this part as we have already paired the service in Step 3. After this the home screen should show up. Tip: Try to be in an open place so that you get a quick GPS fix.
8. You will notice a Red hollow circle that will state you present position with the Map under it. There is top bar displaying time on the left, GPS Fix on the right with Access point and battery Meter. Tip: The GPS Fix and Access point connection should not be in RED. A bar at the bottom displays Options, Record and Exit selection keys.
9. After you get a Fix start the application by selecting the record button. You will be asked to broadcast your vine live and you can choose accordingly. Next you can hide the application and start off either playing music or clicking a picture or making a video.
10. After you are done, open the client, go to options select Stop Recording. The client will stop the recording and will ask you to name your viNe. Give it a name, let’s say Test viNe and select what media you want to share and then proceed to enter the tags to your vine. Next all you have to do is to upload your journey and after it has been done you will receive a confirmation message stating that it has uploaded successfully.
11. That’s it. You just made your first viNe. You can watch your vine on the official site and also in your Sportstracker account.
Hope this was helpful to you all. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask.
