Nokia N96 vs Samsung Innov8 – Camera Comparison – And The Winner Is?
The latest from the field of camera comparison in the on going battle between Nokia N96 and Samsung Innov8 under similar testing conditions is finally in. Well now we have a substantial amount of pictures to compare the picture quality of these beasts, courtesy our friends p@sco who always gets us the latest and that too in amazing style. Simply love the way he brings things up. Well he managed to get his hands on the devices (as for me, I still have to wait for a while to get a heads up from wom 
) and took them for a camera comparison giving us great shots by both the Nokia N96 and Samsung Innov8. The results are in and we will declare who the winner is, but for that you will have to scroll all the way to the bottom

Just to recall N96 has a 5 MP, 25921944 pixels, Carl Zeiss optics, Autofocus, camera with a movie recording video(VGA 30fps), a flash; and a secondary VGA videocall camera. On the other side INNOV8 boasts a 8 MP, 32642448 pixels, Autofocus, camera with Image stabiliser, with a movie recording video(VGA@30fps, QVGA@120fps), a flash; and a secondary videocall camera.

Well, the pictures speak for themselves and they need no explanation but it is seen that Samsung Innov8 camera gives pictures which reflect the color of the real world thus an effect of realism is well maintained in the quality of the photograph which to some extent is missing in the N96.
The bright daylight both of these devices fared well and equally complemented each other with minor differences but while indoors and in dim light the picture is altogether different with Samsung Innov8 leading ahead clearly.
These pictures were taken after the minor firmware update of the Nokia N96 that came this week which according to our friend improved the quality of the picture by a bit. The Samsung Innov8 had a few downsides but these can be neglected by a casual user but for those cameraholics I will point out that a slight improvement can be made in Dim light and Close mode which rather don’t offer control over flash when set to automatic.
With this level of detailed photography you all can make your own inferences based on what pleases your eyes. As for me the N96 is far behind in terms of picture quality and Samsung Innov8 wins in all regards. Thus, Samsung Innov8 Beats Nokia N96 in the Camera Battle.

Uhmm… what? You say the Innov8 comes out on top? Almost every single Innov8 photo has a strong blue tint! And you say its colors reflect the real world. Are you sure the pictures didn’t get mixed up somehow?

Of course Samsung has a better picture quality. The Nokia deviceS may have Carl Zeiss optics and a Chanel coat but the fact is that Samsung deviceS are the ones which makes it better. We can see it clearly on these pictures. But.. Next time you must join a Sharp device on the list. Yes. It has the best picture quality.

LALA… I don’t have an innov8, I’m looking at the pictures above! Look at pictures 2,3 and 5 for example. They have an obvious blue tint compared to the N96 ones. I don’t understand how anyone could have missed that.

Yes the man is right,they are really blue and disturbing for the eye Nokia pics are much more real an better detail look at the firts two pictures, the boat on the right side down near water the Samsung picture it’s all black down there and Nokia shows blue the way that boat is and just a small spot of black wich really exist on the boat …! I think Nokia is better and not only on camera …….

the i8510 is a bit chunkier and may not look as good, but its has everything the nokia has, plus more. for that alone, it is possibly the best phone around just now!
got mine coming tomorrow!(couldn’t wait ofr 16gb!)

I have to disagree with you the samsung innav8 is a bad diapoitning camera, the n96 wins hands down.

I have tested both phones and the Samsung INNOV8 beats Nokia N96 all around.
Innov8 has far better pictures as N96, design is better as n96, menus are the same (Symbian s60 both), innov8 is faster as nokia.
I am fan of Nokia, but this Samsung is realy good, especialy its camera!

Hahaha… compare the Samsung with Nokia N82 or SE C902/C905. That Nokia and SE are much best than others LG and Samsung.

HAHAHA what are you typing is so wrong.
N82 and SE C902 are toys, only comparison is possible with SE C905. But SE C905 is typical SE without Symbian and has worse camera than INNOV8 (but not bad, SE makes good pictures).

Innov8 with Dual LED Flash? Cmon! Even an older K790 with powerful Xenon flash can beat this Samsung!
N95 is Single LED, obviosly the Samsung Dual LED is more powerful than N95 single LED but not better than K850/C905/N82… Megapixels is only one small piece of the cake

It’s like comparing a VW Passat V6 with the similar VW Passat L4 Turbo. Sometimes having more cylinders is better but in other cases (like acceleration) not, the turbo beat it!

i was used to prefer n96
but now, i realise that innov 8
is suite for me becoz the above pictures have proved it.

look at 4th picture the nokia shows clearly better photo..look at cloudes on sgh there isn't any cloud but on nokia there are… btw nokia has 5mpx camera and sgh has 8mpx camera and still nokia has better pictures.. NOKIA IS NOKIA !!! Sgh what?! pfff
