Weekend Links Form My Protege
Okay friends, finally I have all my files and media on my new Toshiba Protege M800 and now am all ready to post. A lot of interesting things have happened this week, so without wasting any time lets take a look at the week that was (and yes, Ill do share my new Notebook images with you all
)
1. Ovi Sync & Ovi Suite Go Live!

This week Ovi which provides a bundle of services made two new announcements. First, they launched another service for the masses called Ovi Sync. This service lets you synchronize your calender and contacts so that you store a copy online. Good point is in case you lose your device and/or some how end up messing with your PC/Notebook then your device can easily be updated to the earlier configuration.
Along with this Nokia also announced the availability of its Ovi Suite for Global download. I don’t know why Nokia has the PC Suite and Ovi Suite running together. My Pick is Ovi Suite and to tell you all a little secret, Ovi suite will sure grow many folds so start sticking to it.
2. Jaiku is Up and Running (If you Need Invites then Pay Attention)

With the Jaiku bird leaving its nest to harbor a new one over last weekend there have been many up’s and down’s in the service. Rather the later was more common, but finally Jaiku has made a new home somewhere in Googles secretly located servers in the US. Thus its up and Running. Some text posting and RSS still needs to be tweaked but overall everything is back to normal.
If you are looking for a Jaiku Invite, then leave a comment below and subscribe to my blogs feeds by clicking here.
3. Enhanced Calculator For S60 Gets a Quick But Important Update
The recently introduced Java Calculator for S60 devices got a quick but important update with some feedback help from us users. Jump Over to find out what Tommi has in this new update. Additional language support and Exit tweaks now work amazingly well. Give him your feedback if you feel something is missing.
4. An Evening With S60 Hits The Big Apple
All Nokia/60 fans from New York pay attention. S60 is holding a event on on Wednesday September 17th from 7:30 PM to 10 PM at the Nokia Flagship Store, 5 E 57th Street, NY 10022for all S60 fans. If you want to attend the event all you have to do is to Register for it here. You will get to meet the people behind the scenes and have you say on various topics. So what are you waiting for.
5. Nokia 6220 Gets OTA

Vaibhav shared with us Nokia 6620 gets an Over-The-Air Update which takes its current firmware version to 3.23. The release v3.23 includes improved stability with Bluetooth (headsets & car kits) and Navigation. The 1.5 MB update is available via the device manager – Menu > Settings > Data Mgr. > Device Manager. Select Options > Check for Updates.
See his post for his rather not so pleasing experience with N78 OTA.
NOTE: The OTA has been pulled back.

I’ve already tried that calculator, but has it is a java app, it takes longer to start running, so I still prefer to use the “old” calculator..
