Nokia N96 Officially Announced in India

Guys, this is true and I can’t believe my eyes. It’s so amazing that people at Nokia sure love to give its users a lot of surprises. Good News came across that Nokia Officially Announced to Launch their High End Multimedia handset N96 here in New Delhi on 19th Aug 2008. The device will be available for sales in September. (The Phone was only on display and is yet to be launched)
Well, why so early, it’s simple, Nokia wanted to make public aware about N96 before the iPhone 3G is launched in India. Thus, making people think to choose between the two. The iPhone will be launched by Vodafone for Rs 31000 in the last quarter of this year.
I’m not sure if this would have a direct impact on sales of iPhone 3G in India but it sure is a good move. My estimate of the price is to be somewhere around Rs. 36,000 Rs.40000 (Approx USD $900 to 1000).
Its good to see Nokia taking note of the emerging Indian Mobile Sector.
