Recently the Nokia Beta Labs announced an all new email service which will enable you to carry around your email account with you inside your S60 enabled device. In simple words it’s an Outlook Express for your mobile device and giving you your email from your POP3 or IMAP server. So I feel it would be useful in case you don’t know how to configure the inbuilt email client. Gmail users get no added benefit and the Gmail mobile client is the best option for them.

So in a way Nokia has refined their inbuilt email client with a user friendly graphical interface.

Following is how you sign up for the account. A simple 3 step process…

1. Select Your device

At present only Nokia E51, E61, E61i, E65, E66, E71, N73, N80, N81, N81 8GB, N95 are supported. In future more devices would be added to the list.

What does Nokia Email service do?
Nokia Email service automatically delivers email from your current email address to your Nokia device. You do not have to change your email address.

Nokia Email service enables you to do the following on your Nokia device:

* View, respond, forward, compose and delete emails
* Manage your email inbox, outbox, drafts, and sent folders

Cost
How much does it cost to use Nokia Email service?
There is no charge for using Nokia Email service during the beta trial.

However, you may incur third party charges in connection with the transfer and receipt of data to your mobile device, such as the mobile data service cost charged by your wireless operator. Your wireless operator can provide you with cost information about its mobile data service plans.

How much does the Nokia Email service cost when I am roaming?
Because third party data transfer costs may apply, email delivery is suspended when you leave your network area to prevent unexpected charges. When you return to your network area, email delivery is automatically resumed. Consult your wireless operator for more information about data transfer costs.
