Greetings Friends, We earlier saw a video on an N95 running Google Android, this can be found here, but today we bring you news that people at elinux.org have tested and worked out Google Android on Nokia N810. Following are a few shapshots of the tablet running google android.

In case you are wondering how did it go, well all i can say is that its still in trial and needs a lot of work to be out in to make it fully complient.
What works till now is the following:
- Android Starts
- Runs pretty smooth
- The joystick works, so moving through menus, on maps etc works
- Keyboard works (except for function key)
- Touchscreen works
- Wi-fi inside Android works
What still needs to be fixed or is not tested yet:
- Function key
- Android power management (no battery readings, android initiated suspend)
- Android RTC r/w … there is no rtc device (one would have to code a wrapper for the retu device I guess)
- Android alarm code
- Sound untested
- Bluetooth untested

How to load this on your N810?
We strongly recommemd that you only do this taking the risk in mind that the device may become useless it done wrong. Try this only if you are good at advanced programming.
What S60Blog Thinks About This?
Though it seems as pretty cool to have a different operating system on the device but one should not do what is not meant to be done in the first place. This is for the developers to try and see if they can make things work, so unless you are a developer or programmer yourself keep your mind off this. These things provide you with the possibility that in future you may have a choice of different operating system’s in your device. Good Start to unify Nokia and Android. Im sure people at Nokia are acquainted to this and are sure looking to work on their symbian operating system to work on tablet’s as well. Android wins on the diversity issue of working on tablets as well as non-tablet devices.
