Open C++ : A Bridge Between Symbian OS & Google Android

June 22, 2008 – 4:30 pm | by Ani Email This Post Print This Post

First Take a Look At Nokia N95 Running Google Android Video below from our fellow friend Vaibhav Sharma, head of The Symbian Blog. Although some hardware issues are still there but all in all its a great start. Check this out.

How is this possible?

Well take a look at the picture below and you would understand the whole point.

With the advent of the latest reports on Open C++ and Carbide.c++ it seems as if a gateway can be opened for syndication of Google Android applications with the symbian operating system. C++ works as a middle man that supports the issues with Google Android open source using the LINUX and C/C++ libraries to integrate them with the Symbian operating systems and yes, we do have a word that PyS60 may also be intergrated.

What does this mean in simple words?

Symbian OS is looking at the potential that open source has to offer which Google has always relied upon and are trying to come up with a system that would be so easy to undersatnd and customise that any phone would be able to change its OS like we do it with our computers.

All we know at S60blog.com is that there is a possibilty that Android and Symbian OS can be used in conjunction with the help of C++, and when this happens the mobile world will change forever.
