Mozilla Firefox To Be On Your S60 Mobile

Can the lighting fast browser make a mark in the mobile world. Well as a matter of fact Mozilla has confirmed the rumors, through CEO Mitchell Baker, that developers are working on a mobile version of the ever-popular Firefox browser. The Firefox Mobile browser aims to bring the full, desktop experience that users of Firefox already enjoy, to the mobile arena.
This is a long-term project and Mozilla is working to ensure that the customizability of Firefox, as well as the full web-browsing experience, will carry over to the mobile platform. This means that almost every phone can expect to have a firefox available for it in the near future but reports suggest that presently only the E-Series and the N-Series of the S60 V3 will be catered.
Mozilla team said that some of the things people like most about Firefox are add-ons and the ability to customize the browser, which are things we would want to bring to a mobile version. One of the main challenges is bringing the full web experience to a small screen. An experiment, called Joey, is currently underway to look at ways to deliver information to mobile devices. Itll be interesting to see how a mobile version of Firefox would stack up to Opera Moile, which already includes tabbed browsing, and even some AJAX support.
The war is not yet on but people at opera are taking it seriously and are looking forward to see how the battle goes. Nevertheless it would be interesting to see the two Tiatans battle it out on the mobile world as well.
Still a long wait for the Mozilla fans.
